Project 2 - 5 Ideas

Need idea for project 2 - self directed brief
So once we have our own concept we need to wrote up our own brief. - need to be approved before production

- develop personal style/approach
- expand on existing skills
- creative experimentation

OK so quick 5 ideas that may or may not come to fruition.

1. Concept design/art/illustration of a world from my imagination
2. abstract graphics that sync with sound
3. Random short clip/animation/interaction ->
4. 2D handdrawn short animation
5. Horror/gore/twist/freaky -> mythological creatures (short animation?)

16th March - Animatic

okay this is a really really really really crappy preview of the animatic in .gif form.Just pretty much slightly animated version of my storyboard.
added the extra ending, the last 2 frames, you can tell is in pencil. Because decided on it today. I had a couple of suggestions:
"add more mechanical parts to the posthuman body"
"make it look more like a cyborg/machine"
so in the end decided on making it into a zoom pan of the eye and have the pupil do a camera shutter action.
can start on more detailed and vectored version now.

9th March - discussion in class about storyboard

(cough) kept forgetting to update the blog. My bad.

Today*(really last week) we talked and discussion our storyboards.
With my storyboard I presented the idea, and the kind of colours I would like to use. Which was decided to be limited to two colours,that would include highlights and shades.
ie the image above. first frame of my storyboard.


The feedback:

"yea, it's a good idea."

"maybe add a little something to the end, like a bit of a twist?"


Thoughts:

I thought the ending was lacking something as well. Troy suggested that i should show how the 'human' could be more mechanical.
So i would try to develop a ending that has something a bit more eerie feel about it.
